Color
One of the most dominant elements. Color is created by light and has three properties. These are Hue (name), Value (shades and tints), and intensity (brightness).•There are different color schemes such as Primary colors, Secondary colors, Tertiary colors, Complementary colors, Analogous colors, Warm colors and cool colors. |
Shape
•A flat, enclosed area that has two dimensions, length and width. Artists use both geometric and organic shapes.•Geometric shape: • Shapes such as squares, circles, and triangles with perfect, uniform measurements and do not often appear in nature. •Organic Shape: •Shapes associated with things from the natural world, such as animals and plants. |
Texture
Describes the feel of an actual surface. The surface quality of an object, can be real or implied. •Real texture: texture that feels exactly as it apapears (i.e. globs of paint on a canvas, or the smoothness of a sculpture) •Implied texture: texture that is created to look like something it is not. |
